Frequently Asked Questions

An apostille (pronounced uh · paa · stil) is a certification issued by a designated authority to verify the authenticity of a public official’s signature on a document for use in a foreign country that is part of the Hague Apostille Convention.
-
The country in which you will use the document determines the type of certificate you need:
An apostille is used when public documents are being transferred between countries that are a party to the Hague Apostille Convention and require no further diplomatic or consular legalization.
Authentication certificates are used for destination nations that are not part of the Hague Apostille Convention and may require further diplomatic or consular legalization before being sent overseas.

Before sending your documents, we’ll want to review them to ensure everything is in order. Customers in Philadelphia can schedule an appointment to drop off their original documents in person. We can also provide a pre-paid shipping label to securely send your originals to us.
-
It depends. The document must be electronically notarized by a notary commissioned in a state that allows apostilles for remotely notarized documents (e.g., Pennsylvania, New York, Montana, etc.).
If your document was previously notarized by a notary in a state that does not allow apostilles for remotely notarized documents, such as Wisconsin or Minnesota, for example, it would need to be electronically notarized again.
We can assist you with this process and ensure your electronic documents qualify for an apostille.

Tyler Arcaro is a godsend. He helped me every step of the way ... with an apostille document that got rejected twice [because of other notaries]. He is incredibly knowledgable about the different options for processing the document. My document was also accepted incredibly fast at the Harrisburg apostille office because the worker recognized his name and knew the document would be correct. Very professional, understanding guy and I would definitely hire his services again.

I came to Tyler with a rather complicated ask and he delivered, above and beyond! He is communicative, reasonable, and 100% knows his stuff. I never had to worry about anything even when I (and my documents) were halfway across the globe. Tyler is the real deal.

Tyler was kind, professional and, serendipitously, we were working on the same legal project. He explained the apostille process to me in depth. It was great getting to know him and I hope he keeps me informed on his project. Tyler offered to walk to my location to deliver the documents.
